Advocates Increase Pressure To Help Uninsured
Health- care advocates in Albuquerque are hosting events next month to pressurize lawmakers to make health coverage for uninsured Americans top priority! Now, that sounds interesting to me.

As part of the 'Cover the Uninsured' week, Albuquerque advocates are hosting a workshop on a low cost insurance option for small businesses.

The State Coverage Insurance program allows businesses with 50 employees or less to insure an employee for $75 per month. The not-so-affluent people will benefit greatly from this program.

To be eligible, the employee's family income must be 200% of the federal poverty level or less, and the employee must not have had insurance for at least the last six months.

State Human Services Department spokeswoman Betina McCracken said that she is not disappointed by the results so far. She said that 4,350 people have already been signed up for the coverage.

McCracken said her department is kicking off an advertising campaign to draw more employers' attention towards the plan.

Well it seems a logical step taken as more and more people with low income can benefit from this idea. I think it's nice that people are taking the initiative to host events that make people aware about their health care.

Bravo all health enthusiasts! Keep the good work going!
