To fulfill the requirements of a post recession economic industry, LOMA has introduced a new insurance sector related training program. This program has been christened as the Accelerator program. It is meant for new insurance professional who wants to learn the industry secrets very fast. Today insurance has become a complex financial sector with huge oversight and regulatory systems. It takes years to understand and deliver in the insurance sector because of the high degree of complexity. Because of this, the new Accelerator program has been introduced as a simplified entry point for beginners.
The new course is offered under the aegis of Insurance Immersion Program offered by LOMA. This course is very well suited for both- managers and other professionals who work in support functions of insurance companies like IT, HR, Training, Accounts etc. They need a basic understanding of what their company does and how it operates. This is a very important addition to the Insurance Immersion course which was started in 2008 and has since been seeking some revisions and additions in the post recession scenario.
Mark Adel, Assistant Vice President, Education & Training at LOMA informs that the member companies of LOMA had been asking them to come up with a program for them to make their employees aware of the basics of insurance and annuities business in a rapid fire mode. He said that by working in close coordination with major industry players, and under the guidance of an industry steering committee, LOMA has developed an instructor level program. This program features various industry derived real world scenarios and hands on activities and is being taught by industry experts.
As of now, the program is being offered directly by LOMA in United States and Canada. Classroom sessions have been planned for Chicago in Illinois and Windsor in Connecticut. Virtual sessions are being worked upon and LOMA plans to start delivering them soon through web conferencing, making the program available to insurance industry professionals outside the two countries.
